This has commercial and residential pool owners preparing for the summer.
Even though Hurricane Laura hit last year, it’s still having an impact on the pool industry this year.
It led one of BioGuard’s chlorine manufacturing plants to burn down, causing businesses like The Pool Doctor in Traverse City to make sure they have enough chlorine to last the season.
“As soon as we heard that the plant caught on fire during the hurricane last year we put in an order,” said Mandy Jelinek, General Manager of The Pool Doctor. “So we ordered enough to get us through the spring and then again last week we put in another order.”
