Michigan State Police responding to the crash received reports around 1:23 p.m. of a traffic accident in Montcalm County, northeast of Grand Rapids.

A pickup truck, driven by a 63-year-old male from Edmore was traveling westbound on M-46 when he went off the roadway to the north and struck a 68-year-old male pedestrian, also from Edmore, who was walking on the sidewalk. The 68-year old pedestrian died on the scene.

The Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division is currently accepting donations for new and lightly used coats until Dec. 20.

Michigan State Police are conducting an investigation after a 68-year-old man was found dead inside a Pine Township home.

Starr was a trooper at the Lakeview Post when he died in 2020. He is survived by his wife, Rachael, and their two daughters.
