As there is rise in cholera cases in Odisha s Rayagada, the district administration of neighbouring Koraput and Kalahandi have also been put on alert and do immediate intervention if anyone shows symptoms.
At least six people have died and 71 others are hospitalised due to diarrhoea after drinking contaminated water from open sources in several villages in Odisha's Rayagada district, officials said on Saturday.
Odisha diarrhoea outbreak: After the deaths were reported, the state government sought a report from health authorities in three days, while the incident led to protests in the assembly, with the Opposition Congress demanding a statement from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
