Two people are dead after a crash involving a pickup truck and a tractor trailer in East Petersburg on Saturday night that caused the vehicles to burst into flames, according to Northern Lancaster County Regional police.
The two vehicles crashed into each other at Main Street, or Route 72, and Graystone Road at 9:06 p.m., causing both vehicles to ignite, police said in a news release.
Rescue crews arrived to find two people inside the pickup truck, both dead at the scene, police said. Neither personâs name has been released to the public, though authorities say they have been presumptively identified.

Update, Thursday (4 p.m.): East Hempfield Township Police have identified the victim as Robert L. Sponaugle, 65, of Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Police say he was traveling west on Route 30 in his 2008 Toyota Yaris when his vehicle struck a tractor trailer.
Sponaugle was transported to Lancaster General Hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

Route 30 in Lancaster County is open again after hours of investigation into a crash that left one person dead, according to police.
The crash involved a sedan hitting the side of a tractor-trailer before stopping against the median, East Hempfield Township Police said.
The two collided in the westbound lanes of Route 30 west of Rohrerstown Road around 3:15 p.m., police said.
The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Police are not identifying the drivers until the families are notified.
