Coming here this evening what is surprising is the size of the area of where these crimes unfolded. This is one of ten crime scenes marking with victim Chris Martinez was killed. At sunset on the campus of Uc Santa Barbara hundreds of students hold candles in silence. They are solemnly paying respects to the victims of a mass shooting. Im shocked about this. I dont know what to say. Its so surreal. We hear about it happening to other schools and i would never thought it would happen to our school like this. Concord police were called to the home just before 6 00 and they wound up in a deadly confrontation with the woman who lives there. An officer or officers were not sure how many pulled their weapons and that woman was shot and killed on the path way just steps from her front porch. A neighbor told me he heard what he thought were fire crackers and he looked out the window to see an officer with her gun drawn. That same neighbor says a middle aged couple lives there with another man and woman in their 20s. And it was his impression that the woman who was shot was the older woman.
