2 City of Jacksonville senior centers to reopen as COVID-19 testing sites

The City of Jacksonville is bringing COVID-19 testing back to two sites previously used as city-run COVID-19 vaccination centers starting next week.
The Mandarin Senior Center and the Lane Wiley Senior Center will return to COVID-19 testing effective Monday, Feb. 22. Both locations will be open for testing from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Makeup days will be available this week for people age 65 and older and health care workers who received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at either Mandarin or Lane Wiley senior centers and missed their appointment for the second shot, the city of Jacksonville announced Friday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The two city-run COVID-19 vaccination sites will close at the end of the week said Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry on Twitter Thursday.
The closures were already looming.
During a press conference earlier this week, Curry said that if the city didn t receive any additional shots, the two locations would run out of supplies by the end of day Thursday.
Duval County to end Prime Osborn vaccination site, move to state-run Regency Square Mall site

JACKSONVILLE, Fla Those eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Duval County will no longer be able to access the shot at the city-run Prime Osborn Convention Center site, according to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry.
Curry tweeted Wednesday morning that the Duval County Department of Health will end its Prime Osborn vaccination rollout for initial doses and take no new appointments. Moving forward, all vaccinations will be scheduled at the state-run Regency Square Mall site, the mayor s tweet said.
