The housebuilder has set out plans for 50 homes south of Denbigh Drive in Crompton, within a borough that it said is delivering only 80% of its housing target.
Miller Homes plans to deliver three- and four-bedroom housing on a 7.9-acre agricultural plot, insert a new access point off Denbigh Drive, and add landscaping across the scheme.
The site, which sits to the south of the High Crompton housing area, is identified as “Other Open Protected Land” in Oldham’s adopted development plan: however, it also sits within the Cowlishaw draft housing allocation area included in the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, this zone being proposed as capable of delivering 460 dwellings.

The housebuilder has submitted plans for housing on the Mortons Dairies site, to be accessed from Liverpool Road and Kenyons Lane.
In a planning statement complied on behalf of Bellay and Messrs N, J and E Harrison, representing the Mortons business, planning consultant Peacock + Smith outlined the proposal for a triangular site to the north of Lydiate village, close to Maghull.
The site is bound on its eastern side by the A59 and the west by Liverpool Road.
In the northern portion of the site is the historic arable farm, with the current dairy operation, which will be relocated, operating in the southern part of the site.
Developers to set out housing plan for old Hunstanton school site Published: 07:00, 26 January 2021
Plans for a new housing development on a former West Norfolk school site are set to be outlined at a meeting tomorrow.
Developers have been invited to give a presentation to Hunstanton Town Council about their proposals for the site of the town s former Infant School in James Street.
The school merged with the old Redgate Junior to form the current Hunstanton Primary in 2015 and there have been some suggestions the buildings could have been used as a new library for the town.
