This year will be the first time candidates for the Macomb County Board of Commissioners will run for four-year terms instead of serving two-year terms.
Two weeks ago, three of county Clerk Anthony Forlini’s top staffers spoke at a committee meeting, also held in the county Administration Building in Mount Clemens, urging higher pay for him and the position.

A land bank authority would acquire distressed, unwanted properties, typically those in tax foreclosure, and rehabilitate and try to resell them to put them back on the tax rolls and help spur economic activity.
