These are some of the people who arrived mere moments after the fire started at the warehouse killing 36 people. An oakland teenager is safe and sound this morning after police rescued her from a home where she was being held captive. Investigators say the kidnapping could be tied to human trafficking. Police swarmed the home near 65th and herzog yesterday after hearing reports of a man kidnapping a young girl. Officers found the teen and arrested a 20yearold man. The fbi estimates more than 100,000 children nationwide are victims of sex trafficking and if that was the case here, the teen may have escaped an even worse fate. Human trafficking is a serious issue and not just in oakland but across the nation and the world. Its cases like this that we have to take seriously to see, um, what are the underlying issues that are going on. Almost 1,000 cases of trafficking were reported in california in 2014.
