He has been a councillor, community event organiser and cheerleader for Brandon for decades.
But Mark Skinner s biggest role in the last year has been in his work as a funeral director, offering comfort to families when they have needed it most during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Police cordoned off a path off Drakes Way; Inset: Lauren Skinner Pictures: ADVER A WOMAN who lied about being raped by a stranger after arguing with her boyfriend has been given unpaid work.
Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard that Wiltshire Police spent more than £2,000 investigating the complaint made by Lauren Skinner, including cordoning off a path near Greenbridge and trawling through CCTV footage. The 18-year-old was spoken to twice by officers – including two detective constables – and underwent a forensic examination by trained nurses. Her solicitor, Mark Glendenning, told magistrates that his client had found herself “on a rollercoaster” after making a “throwaway” remark to her boyfriend that she’d been raped. “Every step down that road [made] it much more difficult to recant and go backwards,” he added.
