Border-policy expert Laurie Trautman saw a hopeful sign for improved Canada-U.S. relations in one of U.S. President Joe Biden’s first orders upon taking office last week.
Biden’s executive order aims at “promoting COVID-19 safety in domestic and international travel.” The order directs the U.S. State Department to “immediately commence diplomatic outreach to the governments of Canada and Mexico,” on co-operation for common protocols.
