A conservative Virginia member of Congress is joining a liberal Democrat from Illinois asking federal officials to crack down on the illegal Chinese-made candy- and fruit-flavored e-cigarettes flooding the U.S. market that are hooking thousands of kids on nicotine.

Altria Group’s NJOY e-cigarette unit is suing to block the sale in California of the kind of candy- and fruit-flavored e-cigarettes that California law specifically bans but that have captured a fast-growing share of the vaping market.

The suit claims Chinese and U.S. vape companies are not complying with the law and seeks damages and an injunction on imports.
