Kolkata:
Tears, anger and indifference. These three elements added spice to the political drama that unfolded in Kolkata through the day on Friday, starting with the Bengal Forest Minister Rajib Banerjee resigning from his post and bursting into tears after submitting his resignation letter.
After dropping it at the chief minister s home office, he went to Raj Bhavan to give the letter to the governor. Stepping out of the gates, he stood on the road and addressed the media and then about 7 minutes into it, burst into tears.

Hours after West Bengal Forest Minister Rajib Banerjee resigned from the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Friday expelled its party MLA Vaishali Dalmia after a meeting of the disciplinary committee.
The decision to expel Dalmia came as for the last few months she has been publicly criticizing the party, sources said. Her accusations against the functioning of a few TMC leaders had intensified following the resignation of state minister and former cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla.
Recently, she had claimed that some people within the party and ‘outsiders’ (hinting at Prashant Kishor) were ‘eating up the TMC like termites’. She also alleged that efficient people were not being allowed to work independently for the greater interest of the people in the state.

Baishali Dalmiya had voiced support for Rajib Bannerjee and Laxmi Ratan Shukla, who quit the party
Cracking the whip against dissenting party leaders, the Trinamool Congress on Friday expelled Baishali Dalmiya, MLA from the Bally Assembly constituency in Howrah district and daughter of well-known cricket administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Reacting to the development, Ms. Dalmiya said the party will have to specify what anti-party activities she has been accused of. The MLA said she was spared the task of tendering her resignation and would expose the TMC’s corruption.
