Large vote share of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections in December forced the government to roll back its Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS), and once the BJP candidate wins the seat in Legislative Council for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ constituency, notifications will be released for jobs, party’s chief Bandi Sanjay said on Monday.
“The government owes ₹ 72,000 to each unemployed in the State,” he said, elaborating that the government has to pay promised Nirudyoga Bhruti Scheme’s monthly monetary allowance of ₹ 3000 for the past 24 months.

Court takes up batch of PIL petitions relating to land and building regularisation schemes
The Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the State government not to initiate any coercive steps against applicants with regard to Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) till further orders.
A bench of Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy passed the interim direction while hearing a batch of PIL petitions relating to LRS and Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS) issues. The bench would not hear the matters as the Supreme Court was already seized of the mater following a writ petition filed by a citizen Juvvadi Sagar of Telangana on the latter’s government issuing LRS and BRS rules without undertaking their impact assessment study.

The BJP has demanded an inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the controversial land deals at Hafeezpet, Miyapur and in the suburbs of the twin cities. “The ongoing land disputes are not an issue between two families but just the tip of the iceberg of the nefarious activities happening on the real estate front with the connivance of ruling party bigwigs,” alleged party vice -president and former MLA N.V.S.S.Prabhakar at a press conference on Friday.
