The Leadership Awards celebrate up-and-coming community leaders.

My broadcasting partner, Orville Susong, and I were at the Sharing Center of Central Brevard in Cocoa on Thanksgiving morning. We witnessed what we see every year, volunteers and the community coming together to help those in need.

Finalists range in size, but have one thing in common: Their leaders and staff all care about the Space Coast community and helping its residents.

"A lot of people come up to me and don't say that they are hungry. They say they're starving."

Since 1985, Leadership Brevard has graduated over 1,575 participants. Of its graduates, approximately 75% still reside in Brevard.
