A DECISION has been made to remove the temporary Local Sustainable Transport Response to Covid-19 scheme in Ruthin town centre. DENBIGHSHIRE County Council has secured £71,000 of funding for a community project in Pengwern. The Rural Futures Lottery funding, which is being match funded by the Council, will focus on making a positive impact within the community of Llangollen by increasing opportunities to raise skills and aspirations, provide additional space at a community centre as well as resources to deliver activities and services to support people. Areas such as Clwyd Street in Ruthin were badly hit and homes were evacuated on January 20. The Council is currently seeking further details of the fund Welsh Government is making available for eligible residents but Welsh Government have announced the proposed payment will be £500 with an additional £500 for those without insurance cover. WREXHAM Council has welcomed the opening of the first Local Vaccination Centre (LVC) in North Wales. The council has been pressing for an LVC in the county borough as part of the vaccine rollout to local communities, and earlier this week the facility opened at the Catrin Finch Centre.
