Fifty McLean County residents are in the hospital with COVID-19. That's a new high for the county since the start of the pandemic. The county also has topped 6,000 active cases for the first time.

McLean County health officials on Monday reported four deaths more related to COVID-19. The county has reported 13 COVID deaths so far in January, and 319 since the start of the pandemic.

McLean County set another record for daily coronavirus infections on Friday, and reported two more COVID-related deaths. Bloomington-Normal hospitals report all of their intensive care beds are full.

McLean County health officials added more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases in a single day on Wednesday — and four more COVID-related deaths.

The McLean County Health Department reported 584 daily coronavirus cases, while Bloomington-Normal hospitals saw an increase in COVID-19 patients.

Two more people have died and more than 1,400 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in McLean County since Dec. 30, according to a Monday update from the McLean County Health Department.

The latest data from the McLean County Health Department show several new records related to COVID-19. The county has a record 62 COVID patients being treated at Bloomington-Normal hospitals.

As McLean County broke its single-day record for new COVID-19 cases, Gov. JB Pritzker said Thursday he’s urging hospitals to postpone non-emergency surgeries and other procedures to prepare for a likely surge of post-holiday omicron patients.
