Trucks, working to repair the highway here, after this fiery crash. Part of the highway, it looks like, was damaged. So theyve got the street sweepers and looks like crews out here. And looks like theyre doing some patchup work to the highway. So we dont know when this northbound part of 101 at Bailey Avenue will be reopened. But this all started 3 30 this morning. Thats when the crash was reported. And this was the dramatic scene the driver saw as they passed the four vehicles on fire. According to chp, it started with a single vehicle that spun out, hit the center divide. Three other cars crashed into it. One ignited and before long, all four vehicles were on fire on the freeway. We know one person was killed. At one point, firefighters and chp had to shut down all. Lanes of northbound 101, south of 85. Now, they have one lane open. I was just driving home from work. Man, i just saw a bunch of fire. And there was like three cars. And theyre just engulfed. It was a pretty bad accident

They have some firefighters it out there the at this point. Theyve been putting foam on that pile of smoking debris. Theres a lot of smoldering debris out here, and as you can imagine, that is the big concern because i think you can probably see it is still quite windy out here. You could ever get in the middle of the night. Reporter Santa Rosa Police arrested the 16yearold driver. They have charged her with misdemeanor, vehicular manslaughter. Well, police say there is no indication of another car being involved, witnesses say there may, in fact, have been more than one based on the crash, the cries of other kids to call 911, and the scene afterwards. I dont know if theyre all traveling together or theyre there, but its just unusual to have four cars up here that time of night and all the people i could determine were young. Reporter here youre looking at the path the car took as it went over the embankment. Those are some of the trees it hit.
