Actuarial Science Actuarial Science
Actuarial science is a specialization in the mathematics major tailored to students interested in a career as an insurance or pension actuary. The specialization focuses on a collection of mathematical and statistical techniques that make it possible to calculate the monetary value of uncertain future events.
Quality classroom experiences
Mathematics and statistics courses introduce new ways of thinking and develop discipline in carefully expressing these thoughts through problem solutions or carefully written arguments. Beginning with calculus, all mathematics courses are taught in small sections to ensure an appropriate level of personal attention. Students utilize various software tools that are available in the Math Science Computer Lab and in other computer labs across campus.
Applied Mathematics Applied Mathematics
Mathematics drives developments in telecommunications, medicine, computers, finance, insurance, car and airplane design, and weather forecasting. Students in the mathematics major learn a wide range of abstract mathematical concepts and their many applications. The Bachelor of Science in mathematics with the applied mathematics specialization emphasizes scientific computing and modeling.

MIDDLEBORO Two years and a month after the beginning of construction, the new Middleborough High School is ready for occupation.
“We are very pleased with the work of the design, management, and construction teams, and the end result is a truly lovely and very useful facility that should make the town proud,” said Rob Desrosiers, Chair of the High School Building Committee.
Spring break is this week; by next week, April 27, students, faculty, and staff will be inside the new building, though still on a cohort hybrid schedule for most until the state decides on a timetable for grades 9-12, which will probably be in May.

CCP opens memorial site

The space reaches all the way to the back of the new Wahconah Regional High School and was abuzz with crews during a recent tour â from a main entrance to be sheathed with a curtain of bullet-resistant glass, past future administrative offices on the right, the fitness center on the left, and the wide stairs with stadium-style seating at the heart of the soon-to-be Student Commons, where stu
