A resource re-evaluation committee voted 11-1 Friday, Dec. 15, to keep "Queen of Shadows" in the high school library.

The criticism came while district officials discussed a new policy that addresses library materials.

"Queen of Shadows" is under review by an ad hoc committee which will next meet Dec. 15.

Literacy support and individualized student interventions are among the tactics discussed in the district's continuous improvement plan.

An appeal on the decision to retain "Empire of Storms" in the Brainerd High School library is pending.

"Empire of Storms" by Sarah J. Maas will remain in the Brainerd High School library after a community member challenged it.
