The State Board of Career and Technology Education did not agree to add the $433,000 program to its yearly budget.

State lottery revenues channeled to the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education will be used to fund purchases of everything from equipment to train future firefighters and EMTs to electric vehicles to aid in training of aspiring mechanics.

CareerTech activities include career-oriented courses, internships, apprenticeships and in-school programs that promote work readiness.
