A car driving with a bull in it was pulled over by police in northeast Nebraska's biggest city. “We didn’t have a full understanding of it until we saw it,” Reiman said. The car that Lee Meyer has driven in parades across the area for years has half the windshield and roof removed to make room for his bull, named Howdy Doody, to ride along.

Police told Insider that an onlooker had called 911 on Wednesday morning to report that "someone was driving with a cow in their vehicle."

Seeing a giant bull riding shotgun with its owner behind the wheel isn't what some drivers in Nebraska expected to see along US-257 on August 30.

A retired man said he has been driving his pet steer Howdy Doody around in a customized Ford Crown Victoria for seven years without a problem. Then the police in Norfolk, Neb., stopped him.

The driver, Lee Meyer has driven the vehicle in parades throughout the region for many years. It features a modified design where half of the windshield and roof have been taken out to create space for his bull, known as Howdy Doody, to ride along.

Officers got an emergency call about the animal, named Howdy Doody, sitting in a modified car that had half its windscreen and roof removed.
