The Register Whaling Captains of Color Online Thursday at 7 p.m.: “Whaling Captains of Color,” a live virtual book lecture by author Skip Finley and host Duncan Oliver for the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth. Register for this free event at www.hsoy.org. A Martha s Vineyard resident, Finley has written a comprehensive account of the more than 50 sailors of color who rose to captain America’s great whaling ships. His book is an entertaining read that puts the focus where it properly belongs: on the multi-cultural essence of a fishery that spanned the globe. One-Lane Main Traffic barriers and one-way traffic are back in place on Hyannis Main Street to allow for outdoor dining and expanded pedestrian access to shopping and restaurants.
