Congresswoman Susan Wild on insurrection, impeachment, the inauguration and what comes next

Congresswoman Susan Wild on insurrection, impeachment, the inauguration and what comes next Updated Jan 20, 2021; Lehigh Valley Congresswoman Susan Wild won’t ever forget the first three Wednesdays of 2021. First came the insurrection at the Capitol as she sat in the gallery of the U.S. House of Representative’s chambers. The following Wednesday she voted to impeach President Donald J. Trump for a second time. This Wednesday, she watched President Joseph R. Biden Jr. sworn in as the 46th president on the steps of the Capitol, on a stage that pro-Trump rioters swarmed two weeks ago. Sitting on the windswept Capitol lawn in clusters of socially-distanced chairs, Wild and her son, Clay, had a front row seat to history as California Sen. Kamala Harris become the nation’s first female, first Black and first Asian American vice president in one fell swoop.
