Since 1993, the Northampton Arts Council has worked to cut through the midwinter blues with Four Sundays in February, the community arts series. The pandemic has forced a change for 2021, but the series is continuing in a virtual format.
This year’s series opens Sunday with a video tribute to The Northamptones, the popular a cappella group from Northampton High School.
On Feb. 14, Lesa Bezo and Henning Ohlenbusch of indie rockers The Fawns will play some songs around their kitchen table, while they also whip up some Valentine’s Day pizza.
For the week of Feb. 15-19, a film will be available for streaming each day for 24 hours as part of KidsBestFest, the children’s movie festival. Among the selections are selected shorts and “Learning To Skateboard In A Warzone (If You’re A Girl),” a 2020 Oscar-winning documentary about young girls in Afghanistan learning to read and write and skateboard.
