Work on £285,000 upgrade in north-east town takes major step forward © Supplied by Rediscover Peterhead A major project to revamp a north-east town centre has taken a major step forward. Construction of the £285,000 stage for public performances is part of the regeneration of Drummers Corner in Peterhead. Site set-up and groundworks on the chosen scheme started last month with hopes the entire project can be completed in July. Now the roof on the existing shelter, known locally as the drum, has started to be torn off as part of the build. © Supplied by Rediscover Peterhead The old shelter at Drummers Corner is being taken down.

'Heartbreak' for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire hospitality as region moved to Level 3

Colin Cameron, Owner of Kirkgate Bar. However, some business leaders hope the introduction of Level three restrictions will encourage people to support local during the festive season. Colin Cameron, who owns the Kirkgate Bar, The Bridge and Masada Bar, said pub bosses need customers, not support. He said: “It’s a real disappointment for the hospitality industry in Aberdeen because we have done so well. “In my three pubs, we are doing our best to ensure people have a substantial meal when they are having alcohol and are complying with the rules. Customers really appreciate what we are doing and the staff are all up for it.
