Tuesday night, Greg Prince told his two young sons the news that school may be back in session for Fayette County Public School students beginning Tuesday, February 16th. They erupted in squeals and cheers. But the decision is not set in stone and it’s not for all students just yet.
An e-mail sent by acting Superintendent Dr. Marlene Helm said the call is based on the city’s current downward trend of positive COVID-19 cases and that the district would make a firm decision next Tuesday to ensure there isn’t a spike in cases. The plan is to use a phased-in approach, beginning with K-2. All other grade levels will remain NTI.
