What we learned about the Chiefs this week Taking a look at the week of May 3 on Arrowhead Pride... ’ pre-draft trade for Orlando Brown Jr. might have been Plan A all along. After Thursday night — when offensive tackle Teven Jenkins unexpectedly remained undrafted after the first round — it was possible to wonder if the Chiefs had made the wrong move by trading their first-round pick for Brown. Could it be that it would have been smarter to stand pat for Jenkins — or another tackle who ...

Breaking Down DE Patrick Jones II A closer look at the Vikings 3rd round DE pick The Vikings selected defensive end Patrick Jones II out of Pittsburgh with the 90th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. This was the pick the Vikings acquired from Baltimore after trading Yannick Ngakoue to the Ravens mid-season last year. The Vikings are looking to upgrade the right defensive end position, and between the re-acquisition of Stephen Weatherly in free agency, the selection of Patrick Jones, and Janarius R...

Dolphins Play Numbers Game Author: May 7, 2021 The Miami Dolphins took to social media Friday to reveal the jersey numbers of their 2021 newcomers, as well as some changes from last year. The unveiling of the numbers also reflected the new NFL guidelines regarding numbers for different positions. Its under those new guidelines that rookie first-round pick Jaelan Phillips will be able to keep his University of Miami number of 15. It was wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. who wore 15 for the Dolphins ...

Jaylen Waddle was/is a big fan of Miley Cyrus. Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Its been a week since the Miami Dolphins added a fresh batch of players to their roster via the NFL draft. From the selection of highly acclaimed Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the sixth-overall pick to the signing of his college teammate, fullback Carl Tucker, there are some new faces on their way to the Dolphins Davie facility. But who are these guys, reall...

Dolphins Are Improved, But Still Chasing The Bills Photo by Timothy T Ludwig/Getty Images Although the 2021 NFL draft, at least at the top, will likely be remembered more for the players that the Miami Dolphins left on the board than anyone they selected themselves, this year’s crop of college talent, when viewed as a whole, was fairly impressive, in my opinion. From the eighteenth selection on, Chris Grier and Co. did a great job of matching available players to positions of need without re...

0 of 9 Charles Krupa/Associated Press With little besides training camps standing in the way of the 2021 NFL season, now is a good time to step back and play the projections game.  Now that the draft is over, we can include it in projecting the worst moves of the offseason to this point. At about this time last year, the worst moves werent too difficult to figure out. The Chicago Bears had traded for Nick Foles. The Houston Texans had dealt DeAndre Hopkins. Green Bay drafted Jordan Love.  Thi...

The Broncos went into the draft with two obvious needs. Just about every NFL analyst outside of Colorado knew quarterback made sense. There was no way George Paton would be content with a third year quarterback who finished 2020 last in every measure that matters and a veteran who’s former team willingly accepted to pay $7 million for him to play in Denver. Less glaring but more pertinent was the 317 lb. question mark set to start at right tackle. I want to be clear that I have no problem wit...

Its been a week since the Miami Dolphins added a fresh batch of players to their roster via the NFL draft. From the selection of highly acclaimed Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the sixth-overall pick to the signing of his college teammate, fullback Carl Tucker, there are some new faces on their way to the Dolphins Davie facility. But who are these guys, really? What do you need to know about them? Both great questions. Neither something we can answer. What we can tell you are some e...

The Cincinnati Bengals got it wrong with this years fifth overall pick.  JaMarr Chase is an exceptional talent. He was clearly WR1 heading into the 2021 NFL draft. But Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell should have been the selection to protect quarterback Joe Burrow.  The decision became an extension of last offseasons missteps. Following the 2020 NFL draft, I wrote of the Bengals class other than their No. 1 overall pick: "Previous ills can be forgiven with a smart approach. With Burrow ...

Comments Jeff Haynes/Associated Press With two first-round picks in 2023 and a pair of third-round selections in next years NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins may not be done loading up for what could be a long stretch as a Super Bowl contender. Still, with a ridiculous nine first- or second-round picks from the 2020 and 2021 drafts now populating their roster, the heart of the Dolphins rebuild is complete.  Now, its time to compete.  The Dolphins have a top-five pick at quarterback (Tua Tagovailo...
