On this date in 2017, ESPN’s Todd McShay played GM for every NFL team in a three-round mock. And I’m not sure which has me more confused: No quarterbacks going in Round 1 of this mock that was made about 20 days before the 2017 Draft … or that Mitchell Trubisky was still his QB1? In either case, re-visiting this mock draft should serve as a reminder of how much things can change between now and draft day. But also, it’s worth remembering that mock drafts are good for assessing team need...

Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty Images Over this past weekend, myself an about 30 fellow draftniks held our annual live draft. This is the same live draft that has taken place here at Behind The Steel Curtain, as well as a few other SB Nation NFL sites. Unfortunately, our draft was moved from SB Nation due to a couple of reasons, but mostly because of the inability of CORAL to handle the high volume of comments that we would have. So, one of our veteran drafters created a place at DISCORD and THE ...

We get a few of those scenarios this week, but Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest 2...

Apr 13, 2021 CINCINNATI — The debate between Penei Sewell and JaMarr Chase continues—at least between coaches and scouts at Paul Brown Stadium.  It seems like most draft analysts and a lot of former players have made up their minds. From Anthony Munoz to Dave Lapham and Tim McGee—they all think the Bengals should take Sewell with the fifth pick.  The same goes for longtime ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. He released his latest mock draft on Tuesday morning. He has the Bengals taki...

NFL week in review: Sam Darnold trade, plus more What is happening around the league with less than three weeks until the NFL Draft Photo by Harry How/Getty Images We are within three weeks of the 2021 NFL Draft and the draft board is starting to take shape. It’s just about a foregone conclusion that the Jacksonville Jaguars, led by first-year NFL head coach and longtime college coach Urban Meyer, will select quarterback out of Clemson Trevor Lawrence. After the New York Jets pulled the upse...

I don't mind all of the crazy, unlikely trading. I myself think there should be more of it. Having 6 picks in the First 3 RDs in 2022 would be outstanding. So, I'd be all in on that. Money will be...

New CBS mock draft gives the Chiefs a first-round linebacker In the first round, Ryan Wilson projects a Notre Dame linebacker/safety to Kansas City. On Monday, CBS Sports analyst Ryan Wilson published a two-round mock draft that has the Washington Football Team trade into the eighth spot to take quarterback Trey Lance. In Wilson’s estimation, offensive tackle prospects Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater, Christian Darrisaw, Teven Jenkins and Samuel Cosmi are off the board by the 25th pick, while...

By Sam Robinson  |  Last updated 4/9/21 Trent Williams last suited up for Washington in 2018. The team has not replaced the perennial Pro Bowler with a long-term option, but that will be the goal going into the draft. Washington will look to add a new starting left tackle, with John Keim of ESPN.com noting the team believes it can do so in the first three rounds of this draft. While Washington should be on the radar for a quarterback trade-up, the team sticking at No. 19 and ...

What we learned about the Chiefs this week Taking a look at the week of April 5 on Arrowhead Pride... had made. NFL free agency began one month ago Monday, when the league’s legal tampering period began. While the free agency period is generally thought to extend only through the NFL Draft, it actually extends throughout the league year; it’s just that free agent players signed after the draft don’t count in the compensatory draft picks formula for the following season. So while free ag...

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Football Team focused on quarterbacks during the offseason and still wants to add its signal-caller for the future. It signed a new starting wide receiver (Curtis Samuel) and added a potential solid player in the slot (Adam Humphries) during NFL free agency. It wants to add more talent at tight end. But coach Ron Rivera has made it clear: He also wants to build the offensive line, giving the team potentially strong groups up front on both sides of the ball. Its on...
