Having to slow down and singletrack past the scene of this derailment further north near south hayward but certainly it has been frustrating for a lot of riders. That was the station announcement that was played at the fremont station this morning letting the commuters know about major delays on bart. All of this caused by a maintenance truck that derailed on the tracks just south of the south hayward station at about three deck 20 in the morning. These trucks are designed to drive along the tracks and crews on board do repair work. The accident caused damage to the electric third rail and crews are having to repair the third rail and they are also working to get the truck cleared from the tracks.
