“He is now the proud owner of the 100 freestyle record at Carpinteria high school and scored massive points with his high placements,” Carpinteria coach Sergio Castaneda said.
Junior Augustus Sheaffer placed third in the 200 IM with a PR of 2:07:00, and sixth in the 100 Backstroke with a PR of 58:00. Both of those are also school records, and Sheaffer swam well in two relays as well.
Freshman Jackson Melton placed sixth in the 200 IM (2:10.63) and fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.52).
The boys relay teams placed fifth in the 200 medley relay (Sheaffer, Melton, Justin Main, Aiden Neuron) with a PR 1:48.50; third for the 200 freestyle relay (Lamberti, Main, Melton, Asher Smith) with a PR and school record of 1:34.41; and 2nd in the 400 freestyle relay (Lamberti, Smith, Neuron, Sheaffer with a PR of 3:29.68.

Freshman Lilli Nemetz hit a CIF consideration time in her first high school swim meet in the 200 individual medley, with a time of 2:51.89.
The Warrior boys beat Fillmore 107-27 to go 3-0 both overall and in Citrus Coast League. The girls prevailed 71-49 to also go 3-0 both overall and in league.
“It s a tough reach to get athletes to be the top 16 for D4 in the entire Southern Section when you re with a small team from a small school of about 600 that doesn t even have their own pool, but we re determined to try,” Carpinteria coach Sergio Castaneda said.
