Watershed School student collecting eyeglasses for El Salvador

(Photo courtesy Watershed School) Story Location: Camden  MaineUnited States CAMDEN Lily Cassidy, a Junior at Watershed School, is collecting used eyeglasses to donate to Asaprosar, an organization that is working to support rural health initiatives in El Salvador. A team from Asaprosar travels to El Salvador annually to examine about 2,000 people, fit most of them with glasses, and perform glaucoma testing and other procedures.  “I started this campaign to help bring eyecare and the gift of good vision to people who may not have access to something that we take for granted,” said Cassidy, in a Watershed news release. “I hope that the people of Midcoast Maine can help me collect enough eyeglasses to really make a difference to others.”
