The Childrenâs Haven in Canton was the recipient of a $4,000 donation recently, thanks to the Lights on the Lake Christmas Boat Parade held on Dec. 5.
Parade Co-Chair Linda Hartsfield said there were 28 boats that took part in this yearâs event. Through both the support of those participating in the parade and a number of generous donors, the Lake Allatoona Association was able to present The Childrenâs Haven with a financial donation of this size. Hartsfield added that officials with The Childrenâs Haven expressed a great deal of gratitude for the contribution, believing the $4,000 would go a long way toward supporting the various programs the organization offers for area children in foster care.
