an urbandale police officer shot and killed a suspect after responding to a drug call at a hotel this morning. officers were called to the holiday inn at 4800 merle hay road just after four this morning. on arrival, police encountered three people in the hotel lobby.. that s when officers say one of the suspects pulled out gun and started shooting at them. police returned fire. killing the shooter. two women took off, but were caught a short time later and are now in custody. urbandale police are planning to hold a news conference on the officer involved shooting. check back for more information on this developing story throughout the morning. a brief standoff ended without injury in the drake neighborhood .. police responded to call of a man firing shots in the air university around seven last night.. the suspect then walked into the nearby platinum kutz barber shop. officers talked him out of the building and took him into custody.. 45 year old reginald douglas of des moine
