Collinsville felon faces weapons charges

EDWARDSVILLE A Collinsville man faces several weapons-related felony charges after being found in possession of a handgun.
Brandon S. Miller, 38, of Collinsville, was charged May 5 with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a Class 2 felony; and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Collinsville Police Department.
According to court documents, on May 4 Miller allegedly was found to be in possession of a KelTec .40 caliber handgun in a vehicle without a valid concealed carry permit. It was noted that he has a prior conviction for resisting a peace officer out of St. Clair County in 2005, making him ineligible to own a firearm.
