Bald eagle nest visible near Little Spirit Lake Tue 2-9-2021 It’s that time of year when bald eagles can be seen in the area.  Jackson County Conservation Officer Mike Gruhlke says there’s a nest visible by Little Spirit Lake… Gruhlke bald eagles cut Feb 8  “I was recently down at Little Spirit and there’s a bald eagle next on the west side of the lake on the Minnesota Basin side so on the Minnesota part of Little Spirit Lake, there’s a bald eagle nest and it can be easily viewed from a township road on the west side of Little Spirit there.  You can park on that township road and with a nice pair of binoculars or a spying scope you can look up into that nest and there are birds around the nest.  I don’t know whether they are sitting on anything at this point, but there are birds there and so that might be indicative that they’re active on that nest.”
