Memory killer cells may improve melanoma patients chances of survival: Study

Solna, June 4: Long-lasting killer cells are present in our skin and act as a defence against intruders. Researchers from Denmarks University of Copenhagen and Swedens Karolinska Institutet have now discovered how these cells are formed and demonstrated that higher concentrations of memory killer cells in tumour tissue are associated with a higher survival probability for melanoma patients. The work was published in the journal Immunity.
