BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Officials confirm the body found in the Mississippi River in Reserve, La. on Tuesday, April 13 is that of missing LSU student Kori Gauthier.
Gauthier, 18, of Opelousas, was last seen on Tuesday, April 6.
The LSU freshman was reported missing after her vehicle was discovered unoccupied on I-10 East on the Mississippi River Bridge between Baton Rouge and Port Allen after a driver crashed into the vehicle after 12 a.m. Wednesday, April 7.

Show Transcript THE WDSU NEWSROOM. THE BODY FOUND IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IS THAT OF A 19-YEAR-OLD STUDENT. SHE FIRST WENT MISSING ONE WEEK AGO. POLICE SAY SHE WAS HEADED TO HER DORM WHEN A DRIVER CRASHED INTO HER PARKED VEHICLE ON THE BRIDGE. THE DRIVER SAYS WHEN HE CALLED POLICE TO CHECK ON THE VEHICLE, THE CAR DOOR WAS OPEN, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT NO SIGN OF HER. HER WALLET, HER LICENSE AND PHONE ALL LEFT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. A SPOKESPERSON SAYS BASED ON CELL PHONE TRACKING, VIDEO AND TIMELINE OF EVENTS, IT IS BELIEVED NO CRIMINAL ACTIVITY WAS INVOLVED.
