Athletics Celebrates Student-Athletes at YJC
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech athletics recognized the achievements of its student-athletes over the past year during its annual Yellow Jacket Celebration on Monday evening at McCamish Pavilion.
Nicole Fegans and Moses Wright headlined the honorees, earning GTAA Athletes of the Year for their outstanding performances this past season.
One of Georgia Tech’s most decorated distance runners in program history, Nicole Fegans embodies the true meaning of being a student-athlete. This season, she placed 12th overall at NCAA Cross Country Championships, guiding Tech to its best finish in school history at nationals, earning all-American status to become just the third women’s runner at Tech to do so. During the 2021 indoor season she continued her dominance as she was named an all-American in the 5K at the national meet. THE FLATS – Yellow Jacket track & field opened up the first day of the Georgia Tech Invitational at Griffin Track on Friday evening. Tech laced it up against Alabama-Huntsville (M/W), Augusta (M/W), Boston College (M), Charleston Southern (M/W), Chattanooga (W), Clark Atlanta (W), Emory (M/W), Georgia Southern (W), Georgia State (W), Hillsdale College (M/W), Jacksonville State (W), Kennesaw State (M/W), Lee (M/W), Mississippi College (M/W), Transylvania Univ. (M) and Valdosta State (M/W).
The Jackets had five student-athletes collect gold in their respective events throughout the first day.

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field is headed to Tuscaloosa, Ala., this weekend to compete at the Crimson Tide Invitational on April 9-10. Week Four pits the Yellow Jackets against host Alabama, Central Arkansas, Indiana State, Kennesaw State, UL-Lafayette, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Tulane and UAB (women).

GAINESVILLE, Fl. – Georgia Tech track & field closed out Week Three of the 2021 outdoor season at the final day of Florida Relays at James G. Pressly Stadium on Saturday. Tech took on host Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Southern California and Virginia Tech.
