Of this pandemic. you should be masked, everyone should be masked, and advising states and localities to reinstitute mask mandates, which we know were eased in july and further in september. i think the biden white house should also revisit some of these travel bans that they looked to selectively apply to south african nations, knowing that the omicron variant was found 11 days before south african scientists raised the flag and alerted the world that it existed, it was found 11 days before tha...

Weekend of serious public health officials at the state and local level. these calls included state, county, city health officials, state of a geologist, laboratory partners and public health organizations. so that is something that was started over the last several days. and we are continuing around the clock to coordinate, as well. the cdc is also a meeting today with state labs and throughout the week we will engage the state health association in order to make sure we are and continued close...

And the question is, institutionally, looking at our legal infrastructure, what is going to happen? what we saw in georgia in the aftermath of the murder of mr. arbery was a tweaking to the citizens arrest law, right? so many of our laws have been on the books for hundreds of years, yet they continue to be in force. so i think this is a moment where, in an ideal world, our different localities, our different states would take a look at these laws related self-defense, related to citizens arrest,...

Changes on the state and local level, which has happened in some instances across the country. youve had states and localities do things like ban choke holds, do things like reform, police accountability practices. but we have not been able to see the federal government step up and act. and i think thats something folks have really been looking to. remember after the murder of george floyd, they renamed that justice and policing act. they named that in his honor. there was a deadline imposed say...

>> alex, to be totally honest, i was shocked when i heard d.c. was rescinding their mask mandate. couldnt happen at a worse time especially as cases are increasing. im not sure of the reasoning behind that but i think it is incredibly ill-advised. iky think of a better time as people head indoors, cold weather, socializing more because of the holidays to wear a mask. we know masks, it has a moest effect on the spread of coronavirus. also i do think localities in states should seriously consider ...

To authorize pfizer and moderna boosters for all adults. we just got that brand-new reporting of the past hour from political, if it is true. that is news that we have eagerly awaiting because the science is conclusive at this point. at least its conclusive as things get in the circumstances. boosters work. the large study released by pfizer, show that a booster dose of vaccine was over 95% effective against coronavirus, including the infected disease delta variant. and this big news comes as 13...

Pulmonologist and msnbc contributor. doctor, always great to see you. how much of a game changer is this fda decision to approve both of these boosters for adults? >> good morning, jose. great to see you. ultimately, this was a decision that they had to make, because over 20 jurisdictions, states, localities across the country have already been doing this. and you cant, as a physician, okay or greenlight a booster for somebody whos not eligible, according to guidelines. thats actually illegal. t...

Its hard to say that reasonably thats not what should have happened here. >> joyce, look, theres a obvious trend thats taking place across the country over the last decade. whether its enshrining the stand your ground laws in different localities. whether state law or not. and i think youre just seeing a more pervasive. this was a jury of the kenosha public here. a -- more of an acceptance. theres a lot of guns in a lot of places. so were going to have a lot more of these trials, i think, where ...

$1.2 trillion, $550 billion is new spending. on 110 billion goes to roads, bridges and airports and broadband so this was something other than infrastructure, im all for infrastructure but this was not the way republicans had a great bill, started 2.0 that could have been put in place, it would have done a lot, but money directly to where it needed to be, not for other things, not to give secretary food a judge a fund for him to determine where money goes, this would have gotten money to localit...

Ago. since then, the race is too early to call, but we are still seeing significant numbers of results coming in from counties across the state. i will tell you that one very, very closely watched democratic-leaning county in the northern part of the state of virginia has made some news. "the new york times" reporting, nbc news has not confirmed this, but reid epstein at "the new york times" is reporting that fairfax county in northern virginia is delayed in reporting its early vote ballots. now...
