I work in tax policy labor markets. One of the areas ive recently been focusing on is paid family leave. As im listening to the conversation i think you know generally talking about paid leave and child care and how we reform the existing system in the u. S. Is very important to the conversation that we have here. Ive also written about the system of child care, the Child Tax Credit, the you know, the system of tax credits that we have and how much of it is queued toward people at the top. How people with the benefits doesnt go to the people with the lower income. This is part of a larger discussion how do we reform child care how to we make it more accessible to people at the bottom. The first panel was more about why we need these policies. Why are we even talking about universal child allowan

He has been sitting in a clinical, clerical position, even though hes a nurse specialist. Hes essentially doing no functions. Hes a Windowless Office, reporting to clerks who need, you know, something moved or carried around. When he has a masters degree and is going for his ph. D. , and he is on active duty, just this past weekend, in the reserves. They have now proposed on friday, he did contact the office of special counsel, back in august when he was first detailed. And they did propose discipline on friday on something that occurred in 2013. And a couple of other things that they alleged occurred in 2014. I dont mean to interrupt you a minute, because ive heard of this before from the other members, other physicians saying they get a peer review gig. Something they can put against you without a reference, saying the thing that you brought up. Right. Is that your experience as well . Been. Could not be easily persuaded to reform themselves when being told to do so by the greatest rent seekers who thought that reforms were never for them. Unsurprisingly as a result of this practice debts, both private and public, skyrocketed. Banks seized to function as credit providing institutions. Investment dried up. And all we have had over the last few years was a slowing down of the rate of our economy as all the fat went, then the plus muscle, then we were proceeding to the bones of our economy. Its the definition of what happens when you go through recession to depression. But thats all past history. Were now negotiating a very simple principle. On the on
Come to the conclusion that whistleblowers have made allegations that were not based on fact, and you can do that pretty expeditiously, it seems to me. And you cant do as expeditious an investigation when it comes to holding a retaliator against a whistleblower accountable. Because guess what, the numbers support what im saying. You can give whatever explanation you want. But im telling you right now, the level of disrespect that you are showing to the veterans, who by the way, if and we know allegations are true in terms of treatment, mistreatment of patients, the lists, the laundry lists of stuff that is going on. Everyone knows that its there. Youre telling me youre spending all this time to try to hold someone accountable. Forget about whats happening about actually fixing the problem where veterans are not getting the services that they need. That is another disturbing thing to me. Thats almost an afterthought to you. So i cant hear an explanation that includes some kind of, with
