“I am 67 and my husband is now 82, which explains why we sold it,” Bray said. “We had really hoped to sell it as a B&B because Lake Wales was the perfect town for it and there’s really nothing else like it. I think it’s kind of sad because people really enjoy the experience when they come to Lake Wales.”
The home the second full-time residence in Lake Wales was built 107 years ago by Joe Briggs, known around Lake Wales as “Booster” Briggs because he recruited people to move to the town that eventually housed Bok Tower and the exclusive residential enclave of Mountain Lake. Briggs was an insurance executive from Illinois.
