The US Navy’s littoral combat ship (LCS) class successfully launched sea-based missiles at a land-based target for the first time during a proof of concept exercise on 12 May.

The US Navy’s Independence-class littoral combat ship (LCS), USS Montgomery (LCS 8), has successfully completed the first land attack missile exercise.

The cracks are created if the ship travels less than half its maximum speed or in turbulent seas.
