‘Saved by the Bell’ star Dustin Diamond has cancer
“Saved by the Bell” star Dustin Diamond, best known as Screech, has been diagnosed with cancer after being hospitalized in Florida. “At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer,” a statement on his Facebook page said. “We ask everyone to respect Dustin’s privacy during this difficult time. All positivity and prayers are appreciated.” ET reports the 44-year-old actor has stage 4 cancer and has started chemotherapy. Diamond played Screech on “Saved by the Bell” from 1989 to 2000, but was not a part of the recent reboot on Peacock.
