Copy shortlink: Four people are facing nearly $70,000 in civil fines for clashing with airline crews over mask requirements and other safety instructions on recent flights, part of what the Federal Aviation Administration called a "disturbing increase" in the number of unruly passengers who have returned to the skies with the easing of pandemic restrictions. Print article I was born in Anchorage in the early 1950s. I still live in the house that I grew up in. I remember, when I was a child, every window in the house had blackout window shades under the curtains. Why? Because after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and occupied parts of Alaska, Americans who lived within striking distance of the Pacific Ocean were terrified that a sneak attack was imminent. Print article If you haven’t voted for mayor yet, please consider this: Dave Bronson seems like someone in the same vein as Donald Trump and Mike Dunleavy — guys with high opinions of themselves with disastrous policies once in office. Remember the buyer’s remorse everyone felt a few short months after Dunleavy was elected? Still in the midst of a pandemic, we can’t afford another small-minded politician who thinks he alone can fix the problem. How many deaths would be acceptable for ...
