Encore Boston Harbor in Everett opens COVID vaccination site

One of the three casinos in Massachusetts converted part of its facility this week into a coronavirus vaccination site.
The Encore Boston Harbor, a luxury resort and casino located in Everett, opened one of its ballrooms as a vaccination site Tuesday. Shots will be available both to employees and the general public, according to Loretta Lillios, director of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s Investigations and Enforcement Bureau.
Appointments are available through the state’s vaccine-finder website, and the casino is coordinating the vaccination schedule for its employees, Lillios said at the commission’s meeting Monday.

Encore Boston Harbor on Tuesday opened a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in partnership with its home city of Everett and the Cambridge Health Alliance system.
A spokeswoman for the casino said the site would be able to vaccinate about 300 people daily, 8:30 and 4 p.m., in the facilityâs Picasso Ballroom.
The site is not taking walk-ins, so people interested in getting vaccinated there should check for availability on the stateâs vaccination finder website, or the Cambridge Health Alliance COVID-19 vaccination hotline at 617-665-2100.
