Los Altos to offer Restaurant Takeout Week Written by Town Crier Staff Report
In an effort to help drive business at local eateries that for now are restricted to offering just takeout and delivery due to shelter-in-place orders, the city of Los Altos is sponsoring Restaurant Takeout Week beginning Friday (Jan. 22).
More than 25 of the city’s restaurants will offer exclusive items and discounts through Jan. 31.
“The City is excited to see our restaurants come together to host a Restaurant Takeout Week,” Mayor Neysa Fligor said in a press release. “I got a sneak peek at some of the offers, and let’s just say my kids have already given me their orders. I encourage all residents to participate in any way that they can, while still following the County and State COVID-19 guidance and orders.”
Local organizations receive Service Medals Written by Town Crier Staff Report
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors presented several Los Altos and Mountain View organizations with the Service Medal during a meeting last week for their dedication and commitment to the community during the pandemic.
Many local organizations were recognized, including Los Altos United Methodist Church, Los Altos Community Foundation and the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce. The chamber, led by president Kim Mosley, like other local chambers, has dealt with small businesses that have borne the brunt of the economic effects of the public health crisis.
County Supervisor Joe Simitian announced the awardees for his district, which includes Los Altos and Mountain View.
