Heavy weekend rain left 14 hikers trapped between swollen rivers on the Tsitsikamma hiking trail, forcing them to huddle around a makeshift fire overnight.

A group of hikers on the Tsitsikamma trails were trapped overnight by heavy river flow following torrential rain.

Fourteen Hikers cut of by rain floods, assisted to safety by NSRI. On Friday this weekend week 14 hikers cut off by flood waters were airlifted in three relays by helicopter organised by NSRI volunteer duty crews.
