Sak wins interactive mural honor May 18, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail Lewis and Clark Community College graduate Breanna Sak stands in front of the interactive mural she created on campus. This was the first year for the mural contest, which was the brainchild of Professor of Communications Chrissie Chapman. GODFREY Breanna Sak of Granite City is the winner of this year’s interactive mural competition at Lewis and Clark Community College. Her work will be displayed outside the Robert L. Watson Math Building, near the entrance to The Commons, for the next year. Sak, who earned an Associate in Applied Science in Graphic Design, said she isn’t used to being in the spotlight.

L&C s student newspaper wins 22 awards May 5, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail Krystie Morrison of Lewis and Clark Community College’s student-run newspaper, The Bridge, won the Sports Photo category of the Illinois Community College Journalism Association with an image from the Jams and Slams Roller Derby. GODFREY Lewis and Clark Community College’s student-run newspaper, The Bridge, earned a record-breaking 22 awards in the 2021 Illinois Community College Journalism Association (ICCJA) awards. Last year the newspaper won 17 awards. Bridge Advisor Louise Jett said the challenges of the last year made her staff even closer. “The Bridge staff didn’t scatter to the wind when the pandemic hit,” she said. “We united to keep our campus community informed and entertained. Our commitment to being flexible and working together as a team helped us earn these awards, many of which took the work of multiple team members.
