The Fairfield City Council will meet tonight at 6 p.m. in City Hall, with a Public Hearing to rezone properties to be held prior to the regular meeting at 5:50 p.m. Items in Routine Business include an ordinance to rezone hospital owned property from an R-2 Zone to a P Zone, an ordinance to rezone city owned property from an R-3 Zone to P Zone, a street closing request for FCHS Homecoming, and a resolution for an appointment to the Police Pension Fund. Other items on the agenda are an ordinance for the transfer of property between the Park District & the City, TIF Redevelopment Agreement for the Water Tower Project, TIF Redevelopment Agreement with Ginger Ale's, and an ordinance authorizing modification of the city's agreement with Sunrise Sanitation. The Fairfield Fall Fun Fest will be held in Downtown Fairfield from Wednesday, September 15th through Saturday, September 18th. Events open on Wednesday night with the Roasted Chestnuts on the Main Stage from 6 – 7pm, sponsored by the Wayne County Press, followed by Church Night Gospel Music organized by Lowell Beckel & NYOC at 7pm, sponsored by Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home. On Thursday, September 16th: FNB's 5k Run/Walk registration will be held at the corner of Court & 4th Streets at 4:30pm, the race begins at 6pm. The 5k awards will be held at the corner of Court & 4th at 7pm, the awards are sponsored by Fairfield National Bank. Also happening on Thursday, the Fun Fest Prince & Princess Contest, sponsored by Fairfield National Bank, will take place on the Main Stage at 5:30pm.
